Canine Behavior Solution - Consulting & Coaching

Ashley Foster, B.S., CBCC-KA
Certified Canine Behavior Consultant

30+ Years of Professional Experience Helping dogs and families navigate complex behavior challenges

I specialize exclusively in canine behavior consulting.
Through over 30 years of professional experience, I’ve learned that challenges such as fear, reactivity, anxiety, and aggression must be addressed at their source — where emotional state shifts and lasting behavior change occur.
Obedience and skills training can be helpful pieces of the process, and they rarely resolve complex behavior concerns.
True behavior change happens when the underlying causes of behavior are understood and addressed thoughtfully and thoroughly.

The Behavior Consulting Framework

Understand

I identify underlying causes, emotional drivers, learning history, and environmental influences — not just surface behavior.

Plan

You receive a customized behavior plan tailored to your dog, your household, and the situations where the behavior occurs.

Support

Ongoing coaching and structured follow-up sessions help you implement the plan thoughtfully and adjust as progress unfolds.

Behavior Change Requires Real Understanding

Dogs by Foster provides virtual canine behavior consulting nationwide, and in-person sessions in Northern Colorado and Southeast Wyoming.

This work is grounded in decades of professional experience, advanced assessment skills, and steady, thoughtful guidance.

When behavior is accurately understood early in the process, recommendations can be targeted and effective — rather than relying on prolonged trial-and-error or conflicting approaches.

The goal is not to rush progress or extend services unnecessarily, but to apply the right level of support at a pace that allows meaningful change to take hold and remain sustainable in real life.

All work is grounded in compassionate, evidence-based practices designed to support lasting change while protecting the well-being of both dogs and the people who care for them.

Virtual Behavior Consulting?

Virtual canine behavior consulting allows us to work directly within your dog’s everyday environment, often providing clearer insight into behavior patterns and more effective implementation.

Because the work happens where the behavior actually occurs, many clients find that virtual sessions translate more easily into real-life progress.

Behavior Solution Services

The Initial Consultation

$350.00

The Initial Consultation is the required first step for working with Dogs by Foster.

This 90-minute session is conducted virtually or in person at our Fort Collins, CO facility. It includes a comprehensive behavioral assessment, identification of underlying causes, an honest prognosis, owner education, and a clear starting plan tailored to your dog and household.

Although behavior change takes time, clients leave the Initial Consultation with a clearer understanding of what is happening, foundation protocols, and a concrete plan for next steps.

The purpose of this consultation is clarity and direction — not to resolve everything in a single session. This is the starting point of a structured process designed to create meaningful, lasting change over time.

The Initial Consultation helps determine which level of structured follow-up or support will be most helpful for your dog and household, so you don’t need to decide that in advance.

Why Accurate Assessment Matters

Behavior change is most effective when it is tailored rather than templated.

Accurate early assessment allows us to focus on what truly matters, often preventing prolonged trial-and-error and the frustration of cycling through strategies that don’t hold.

How Behavior Change Unfolds

Behavior change develops over time and is most effective when approached as a structured process rather than a single event.

Structured follow-up support is part of the process, enabling us to guide implementation, refine strategies, and support progress as it unfolds.

Because the process begins with a thorough behavioral assessment, follow-up sessions focus on guiding implementation and refining targeted strategies rather than relying on prolonged trial and error.

Early in the process, sessions are typically spaced every 2–4 weeks, and cadence is adjusted as behavior change is achieved.

Follow-Up Packages

Because meaningful behavior change is built over time, not achieved in a single session.

Pathway Package

Structures follow-up support for implementation and progress.

$450.00

Includes:

  • Two, 1-hour follow-up sessions

  • Email support between sessions

Session must be completed within 6 weeks.

Mentored Support Package

$800.00/month

Includes:

  • Two, Bi-weekly session

The goal is not to rush progress or extend services unnecessarily, but to apply the right level of support at a pace that allows meaningful change to take hold and remain sustainable in real life.

Support is structured to adapt to your dog’s needs, allowing you to continue with guidance only as long as it remains helpful.

After completing a package, clients may choose to continue with individual sessions on an as-needed basis to support ongoing progress.

“As we walk the path of life, we may see many roads.
There is no single right path — only the one that becomes right as we walk it with awareness.”
